Welcome to ReelPace support. You'll find everything you need here to perfectly sync your videos and sports data.
1. Strava account & connection
Link your Strava account to ReelPace
- Open ReelPace and from the editing space, tap
- Tap

- Authorize access on the Strava page that opens — you'll be redirected back to the app automatically
Disconnect your account
- From the app: go to Settings and tap "Disconnect Strava" at the bottom of the page
- From the web: strava.com/settings/apps
If you disconnect, all runs already synced are automatically saved to our servers. You keep access to your history, but ReelPace won't be able to fetch new activities.
Which activities are imported?
ReelPace has access to your entire Strava history. Your activity list loads progressively as you scroll. Detailed data (GPS track, splits, heart rate) is only fetched and saved to our servers when you select a specific run.
Coming soon: a feature is in development to let you import your full Strava data archive directly to our servers, bypassing API limits entirely.
2. Video sync & metadata
ReelPace uses your video's metadata (creation date, time and location) to automatically sync it with your Strava activity.
Why isn't my video syncing?
If automatic sync fails, it's usually because the metadata was stripped.
- Keep metadata intact: AirDrop (with "All Data" toggle on), WeTransfer, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, Email, Telegram (if sent as a file)
- Strip metadata: WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram, Messenger, TikTok — these apps re-encode the video and erase the original timestamp
Golden rule: always use the original video and don't trim it before importing.
How to receive a video filmed by a friend via AirDrop?
- In their Photos app, they select the video and tap Share
- At the top of the share sheet, tap Options
- Enable "All Data" — the toggle must be green
- Then send via AirDrop as usual
3. Data adjustment (Fine Tune & Stretch Time)
ReelPace syncs your video to the second. If you notice an offset between the footage and your stats, several causes are possible:
- Your phone's clock wasn't perfectly synced at the time of recording
- The video was modified before import (trimmed, or re-encoded by a messaging app)
- GPS took time to lock — at the start of a run, especially indoors or in low-coverage areas (buildings, dense forest), the first GPS point may be recorded a few seconds after the actual start. The activity timeline then begins "late" compared to the video.
- Weak GPS signal along the way (tunnel, dense urban area) — missing or interpolated points can shift the stats displayed on screen
It's also possible the video synced correctly but the GPS data is considered finished — as if the run had already ended when the video starts.
- Fine Tune — slide your GPS data forward or backward without touching the video. The footage stays untouched on screen, only the data alignment changes.
- Pro tip: if the runner's watch is visible on screen, pause the video at that exact moment and use Fine Tune to align the ReelPace data to exactly what the watch shows.
- Stretch Time (coming soon) — lets you stretch or compress GPS data to fix GPS tracking errors, without altering heart rate data.
4. Status indicators (LEDs)
Pick a pipeline to see how the indicators activate depending on your use case:
Pick a pipeline to see how the indicators activate depending on your use case:
You have Strava connected and a video recorded during your activity.
A pulsing dot = the app is working. A static dot = ready. A grey dot = not used in this pipeline.
Indicator reference
If the Strava dot keeps blinking for more than 2 minutes, follow these steps:
- Disconnect Strava from the app settings
- Exit the app, then fully close it from the iOS app switcher (swipe up in the multitasking view)
- Relaunch ReelPace and reconnect your Strava account
